Step # 1:

First of all in how to make fishtail braid is that, you should have to untangle your locks as much as you can. After combing the hairs nicely, make a partition from center into two equal halves.

Step # 2:

Secondly, take a small outer section from any of the two halves and cross it over to the inside of another section. The section that you have crossed over will must become a part of the other half. Keep one thing in your mind, the cross section must keep in tight position that the hairs will not come out after finishing the braid.

Step # 3:

The third step of how to make fishtail braid is the same as step 2. You must need to cross the half section to other in a tight position. Repeat the procedure again and again. Continue the crossing of hairs from one section to other section until you will get few hairs at the bottom. You can stop braiding when you feel the bottom of the hairs left around 2 to 3 inches.

Step # 4:

 
Tie your fishtail braid from bottom of the hair with the help of an elastic. Its depend on your choice to use elastic band or any other tie band. But i prefer elastic band because of its thinnest and tightness quality.
